Jun. 26th, 2011 08:53 pmI'll post the other days after I get home, but here are exhibits A-C for why I shouldn't be allowed to go to these things alone :)

A few SCA bits
Jan. 22nd, 2009 11:56 amI put up some photos of the regalia I got at 12th Night.
Elizabet and John also have some photos up now.
I've added the Grand Tournament of the Unicorn on April 4th in the Midrealm to my SCA calendar. Three events a month is a bit much, but we'll see how it goes.

They say...
Nov. 20th, 2008 02:25 pm... that a picture is worth a thousand words. If so, then consider this a 7,000 word story about what
complexated and I did after racking the chocolate mead.

Playing cards
Sep. 22nd, 2008 11:21 amLast Friday
complexated and I (with some much appreciated help from
violet_amy) finished our playing card project and took them up to the St. Festus Fair laurel challenge.
The whole process was a lot of fun, though by the time we had decided we were going to try for it and then got half decent at the skills we'd need, we only had about a week left before the challenge. We took several short cuts along the way such as stenciling the pip cards instead of block printing them (this was done in period, but was a later technique then we were going for). We didn't finish carving four of our face cards so some images had to do double duty.
I uploaded a bunch of photos taken while we were making our set of playing cards. Our documentation is also on-line now. Sadly I forgot to get some good pictures of the completed set before we took them up to the event (where we gave them to Adhemar). But we plan to make more in the near future. We need to finish carving the blocks we did, and make some better stencils.
I'm looking forward to continuing this project, but for now I think I'll take a week or so off :)

As Thanksgiving approaches, it seems like the right time to finally put up some pictures of excessive eating at Ubercon.

The file is too big to use as an animated LJ icon, so I'll have to stick with the static one. But if you were curious about what it would have looked like, here it is:

Ok, back to work now.
