I'd love to be able to say I've been super busy and just haven't had time to update, but it wouldn't be true.

Over the past few months I've gone from having a 40 hr/week job to two 20 hr/week jobs to one 20 hr/week job and now have a 30 hr/week job that will last at least through April (at which point they will either get a grant or not).  Lots of potential consulting jobs, but that won't help me until they turn into real consulting jobs (something I have no input or control over).  If I had the energy and could afford to make a change, this would be a great time to strike out and do something complete different - but I don't really see it happening.

Been doing some work in NYC.  This usually involves a three hour commute each way; very different from my usual 5-10 minute commute.  In spite of being in the city, I don't really have the time to do or see anything.  Plus I'd probably piss some folks off if I went to a show without them.

World of Warcraft - escapism with a social aspect.  Very handy that.  I can avoid stuff, while still feeling like I'm interacting with folks.  (Ok, it's also very fun and relaxing.  Very easy to just hop on, kill some time and hop off again)

Spamalot in two and a half weeks!  Yay!  Got word from [livejournal.com profile] beckishadow that the London Sweeney Todd show will  be coming to Broadway.  Yay!

Still want to see "Constantine" and maybe "Robots".  Must see "Sin City" when it comes out.

I've been really bad about getting to the gym.  Since after work I'm either tired or have something else I need to do, I think I'm going to try going in the mornings before work.  If that doesn't work out, I'll probably cancel the membership.

Currently in the CD changer:
1. I'll hold you're hand while they drag the river.
2. What's that you say?
3. Ancients of MuMu.
4. Smoke billows, ashes blow around.
5. Yo ho, yo ho, down to the devil ya go.
6. On the way to that slobberin', hoverin' jerk.  (Thanks [livejournal.com profile] kathy_the_geek!  Love it!)

More when I get around to it...

Been awhile since I've updated things here.  Spent most of the last two weeks fighting a cold, but still needing to go into work.  I took about a day and a half off, but that was it.  Tried to give blood last week, but I was still too sick for them.

Didn't do much christmas shopping - just couldn't get into it this year (again).  Amy and I didn't get each other anything - our presents this year are a new bedroom set and our trip to Vegas (which is also going to be our anniversary gift).

Started playing World of Warcraft (Icecrown server - Night Elf Druid) - extremely addicting game, but also extremely good.

In addition to Warcraft, I bought myself some CDs - all from CD Baby, so I didn't have to worry about someone getting me one of them for christmas (I've had a bad habit of buying myself stuff from my Amazon list while people are shopping for me).  Definite winners this order are: Mondo Heptet, and more Clare Fader, plus several others that need a few more listens too before I make up my mind.

Amazon wishlists are good.  Mine kept me from getting any bad gifts from my mother.  Got all the rest of Christopher Moore's books (yay!)

Attended a cool wedding for some friends of ours - felt like an SCA event with Ernst officiating, John & Elizabet cooking the feast dinner, Brynn acting as hall steward, and Kelson and Geneviere in the audience.

Our DVD player has gone on the blink - no clue why.  JVC says to send it into a service center, but to do that I've got to find a copy of the receipt (if I still have it...)  Meanwhile we can't watch the rest of Alias Season 3.  With luck BestBuy can help with the receipt - we only bought it in November (their website says they can get us a copy).

I'm slowly working on the items on my To Do list.  Racked mead today, picked up furniture yesterday.  Will probably bottle the wines tomorrow.  Still have plenty of stuff to do over the rest of the week.

Hope everyone is having a good holiday.

It's another quiet day here - everyone else is out of the office, so I'm left to my own devices.  Mostly, I'm doing some work on a web site for Sonic Tech and pulling together my lists of things to do.

I've visited the gym three times now (well four if you count the visit on Monday where I just talked to them).  The first two workouts were about half an hour on the weight machines and then onto a tredmill or eliptic walker.  The first day had no problems, but the Wednesday really beat up my arms.  I familiar with them being sore after a lot of heavy lifting or something simular, but this was different.  On Thursday, my left arm was almost tender in spots, hurting if I tried to extend it all the way or close it.  I only did the eliptic walker thing (need to figure out their names some day...) and the tredmill that day.  Now today my right arm has joined my left one (which is a little better) in hurting.  I was originally planning to go back today and then take the weekend off, but I think I'll take tonight and Saturday off, and try to go in Sunday morning.
