25. Academ's Fury - Jim Butcher

Book two in Jim Butcher's other big series. This book picks up several months after the end of book one. Everything I like about the Dresden books (good characters, well thought out world and magic, leveling challenges as the characters grow) without me getting annoyed at Dresden being (in my mind) an idiot :) Time to track down a copy of book three.

I enjoyed that series, although not as much as I like the Dresden Files.

Dresden has a lot going for it - quicker reads for one thing, more of a local story less an epic one (though the later books have moved a little away from that). I guess I like the Dresden Files more (will be getting the next book the day it comes out), but I'm really enjoying these.

Many of my friends say that furies is one of their favorite series. I do need to start book 2.
