Last night Kim and Derek came over to get Bootsie for her vet appointment. Kim had connected with Cat Angel Network and they set up an appointment for this morning. After fortifying ourselves with Indian food (Spice Kitchen is yum!), we ventured into the garage.

Bootsie had taken to hiding behind a sheet of plywood, so I've been putting her food at one end of it. She goes out and about, but I always found her there in the morning. We set up a trap (the vet requested she be brought in a trap and not a carrier since it is easier to access her from the trap) at one end where it would be the only way forward, and I started in from the other side. The plan was almost flawless - Bootsie when right into the trap, but not far enough to trigger it. She realized what was happening, backed out, turned around and came towards me. After deciding not to run up me, she opted to duck under my foot and make her escape into the garage.

This led to a series of small chases. She'd pick a hiding spot, we'd try and get her out (with various levels of success) until she made a break for a new spot. Each time she picked behind the plywood sheet, we would try and get her in the trap. It took three tries, and she never walk into the trap a second time. I wound up picking her up in a towel and putting her into the trap.

At this point she should be at the vet. We're not sure if her recovery will be at my house or with Kim and Derek, but once that is done she will be back out in the wilds of Pottstown.

Hot and lazy day at home:
