Basic update...

mikeknBeen awhile since I've done one of these.
Health I seem to have made it through all the various illnesses of the last month or two. The only thing left is the ringing in my ear. It's low enough in volume that I don't notice it most of the time, but the Rhinocort I was given hasn't made it go away. I've got a follow up visit on May 17th, plus I've got my physical on May 9th (need to remember to get my blood work done before then!)
After a few weeks of staying up too late and struggling to get up on time, I've successfully re-established a good sleep schedule. Now to start the morning exercising...
Cats All the cats are doing well, but we really need to spend more time working with them. It's too easy to just let them do what they want while making sure that they don't get into trouble. What we need to be doing is giving Tyree more exercise, giving Mughi more food, and giving all the girls more positive interaction time around Tyree. I mentioned before that Tyree's ears are looking much better. He has a follow-up appointment this Friday, and I expect he'll be given the all clear.
Books I've fallen behind on my book reading (and my comic reading), because of not enough free time, watching TV instead of reading, fewer trips for work with long train or plane rides, etc. If I get the exercising going, I'm planning to read in the morning while walking on the treadmill. With only 13 books read at the 1/3 point, reaching 50 by the end of the year will be tricky.
I got my first book from the PaperBackSwap.com. Still waiting for one other and for the book I sent to be credited. Meanwhile there isn't much on their list that I want, nor do folks seem to want the stuff I put up there - still have 20 books posted. I'll probably give it another month or so and then dump them elsewhere (library most likely).

violet_amy, shadowpony, dame_margarete and finnfinnegan, then a game of Carcassonne - Castle against shadowpony the weekend before last. I had a good time at the Philly Area Gamers on Tuesday. Got to reconnect with northboundtrain, but we didn't get to play any games together. Fortunately it looks like he and Will will be coming back, so we'll get more chances :)
Game Day went well. After a slow start we ended up with a good sized crowd. Usually had two games going plus some folks just hanging out. Got to play Early American Chrononauts, Settlers of Catan, and Carcassonne (w/ Tower expansion). The Tower expansion is pretty interesting. Like the Dragon, it really messes with farmer strategy, but it gives the players more options, both for offense and defense.
I got to join a D&D game on Sunday - I spent the time making a character and hanging out instead of actually playing, but I should be ready for the next session. Just need to ask a few questions first...
Archery Archery is finally starting up again (yay!). I'll be visiting the Limerick archery club withjoef_johnm and kandy_elizabet today, then going to singewulf's practice on Wednesday, and attending Spring Thing on Saturday.
Fencing No fencing this week, and I've missed practice the last few weeks. Eventually I'll get back down to the Bhakail practice, but for now I like having my Thursdays free. I need to pull together some fencing garb so I can fence at events as well as at practices. Our fighter practice has moved to its new site, so we will now get the old space all to ourselves.
SCA I'm caught up with exchequer and calendar stuff, but behind on history stuff. I also need to finish up my game reconstruction and get a few test games in before the event on May 6th. I haven't done anything new with the Google maps, but I will eventually.
