Wow, that went quickly.

Went to Brew U South on Saturday. The "event" was held in a function room at a hotel, which while odd for an SCA event, was just fine for this one. Learned a little something from most all of the teachers, and got to try some new brews from various people. Lots of good stuff. Overall I think the event had a very positive feel to it (there were some concerns about politics on my part). Good interactions, good classes, decent attendance.

Later that night we went out and saw Kung Fu Hustle with Kim and Derek. Very fun movie, but had less music/dancing then I expected from the previews and the name.

Sunday was Mother's Day, so we visited with my Mom for a while in the morning, and then brought her to brunch with Amy's Mom and her family. Had a little trouble finding the place - we'd been there before - even had our wedding rehearsal dinner there - but none of us brought directions, we just figured we'd recognize the area when we got there. Good food and good to see folks, but by the end of the day I was exhausted.

Monday morning I had my annual physical - got an A. Would have gotten an A+, but one of my cholesterol numbers is high. Can't remember which one (others were fine, so I had a "good ratio"). Could still use more exercise, just need to find something that will fit the lifestyle/schedule.

After I got back to work I found out that another pre-screening of Serenity had been scheduled - this time with a theater in Philly. Tried to get tickets with limited success (not Philly...). While I was trying, [livejournal.com profile] singewulf called - having just found out the Philly show was sold out - I knew immediately what he was calling about :)

Kim and Derek stopped by that night to pick up the mattress that's been living in our living room for a few months now (yay!!)

Tuesday I flew to Boston, where a car was waiting to take me to my job. Never had a car waiting for me before - neat consulting perk. Spent a couple long days working on a testing set up for Omnisonics (in Wilmington, MA). Got it finished and tested with a few hours to spare. Many billable hours, but not enough to catch up to where I should be financially. Still it will be a good thing when I get paid. Met a SCAdian at the office - I believe her name was Karen - she and her family don't play much right now due to their kids, but they still hit the odd event here and there. We chatted about Pennsic and Disney and Las Vegas.

Got home around 8 PM on Thursday. Spent much of the evening reading LJ, check mail on WoW, and playing with the cats. Today I've caught up on email and am trying to figure out what is happening next week.
