I got up much later then my usual, hence no post on Thursday.  We also didn't take many pictures on Wednesday, but there are a few

Thursday was the day I had put aside to play some poker.  My original plan was to go play at the Excalibur, but after some on-line poking around, I decided that the Luxor would be better - only because I had a chance of joining a few tournaments.  But first we needed to find something to eat, and Amy wanted to visit M&M World one more time.  We headed over to the MGM Grand to see what food they had available.  Peaked at the Rain Forest Cafe; too pricey but their gift store had some neat items (didn't get anything though).  Saw the Lion Habitat, and its two lions (both napping).  We later learned that the lions only visit the habitat in 6 hour shifts with various members of the 30+ lions they have taking their turn (made us feel much better about the setup).

We went from restaurant to restaurant, skipping only the fast food joints in the food court.  Didn't find anything we'd consider reasonable prices.  Ended up at a high end sandwich place called "'wichcraft", where I got a ham, cheese and apple on pumpernickel, and a funky s'more like desert (we even took a picture of it).  I should note that while we sometimes paid more then we wanted for food, we never had a bad meal - everything was excellent.

On the way back from lunch we stopped in the Kà store.  We would be seeing the show the next day, but I wanted to see if they had a t-shirt for me (since I had no luck at the Zumanity store finding an XL one).  Thankfully they did, so we grabbed one.  After a visit to M&M World, Amy and I split up - she went to drop things off at the room and do some more shopping, while I went over to the Luxor.  I wound up not getting into any tournaments, but did join a $1-2 game for a few hours.  When the game broke up I was down about $9 - not too bad for my first visit, and cheap of a few hours entertainment.

Amy joined me around 6, and we wondered over to Mandalay Bay to visit the shark reef.  What we didn't know at the time was that the shark reef was way the heck on the other side of the place (it would be more accurate to say that the reef is in the convention center that is next door to Mandalay Bay).  The shark reef was excellent and, we later decided, worth the long walk.  After we finished there, we walked back to the Luxor, where we had a late dinner at the Pyramid Cafe.

We killed a little time playing slots, then headed back to our hotel (which involved cutting through Excalibur).  Half way back I realized I'd left a bag behind next to one of the slot machines, so I turned around to go retrieve it, while Amy continued on back.  I didn't find it at the machine, but we lucked out and someone had turned it into the lost and found, so I just had to sign for it and all was well.
