New York Tuesday

mikeknWe spent all of Tuesday in our hotel - never once leaving the building. Our original plan called for some time at the arcade, some time gambling and riding the roller coaster. Things didn't quite work out that way.
We got our usual late start in the morning. Looking out the window I noticed some guys going over the roller coaster track. I figured it was just some routine stuff before starting for the day. When I caught site of them using the blow torch I began to wonder.
We went and had breakfast at the America restaurant, a place with good dinner like food. After that we went up to the arcade area to check out the status of the roller coaster. Found out that it was closed for upgrades (whatever that means) but would be open again on Friday, possible Thursday. They gave us some coupons we could use later for it and sent us on our way. Disappointed, we drowned our sorrows by playing pinball in the back corner of the arcade.
We did a little shopping after that, visiting the NY NY store looking for some souvenirs and postcards. More slots, sometimes winning sometimes losing. Hit Ben & Jerry's for a midday snack. Tried to have dinner at the Nine Fine Irishmen, but the wait was too long so instead we went to a Mexican place for a nice dinner and a yard long margarita. After dinner we made our way over to the Cabaret Theater to see Rita Rudner. I've been a fan of Rita's since seeing her first HBO show, so it was very cool to see her live.
