So I'm back at work after a nice vacation. Boo/yay. I was in the office Monday as well, but didn't get around to posting an update 'cause I was spending most of my time in the lab taking ultrasound pictures of my neck.

I didn't get nearly as much done last week as I wanted to, but that's no big surprise. I did spent a lot of time visiting friends and family, plus a lot of mornings and evenings playing Warcraft (my three characters have a total playing time of about 2 and half days if I remember correctly - the machine at work has too little memory to log in and check...)

Didn't do much for New Year's Eve. Our friends Dan and Fran called to see if we knew of any parties or gatherings. We didn't, but I invited them over to hang out with us, which they did. We watched some misc TV (including the Seven Deadly Venoms :) ) before switching over to see the ball drop in Times Square. On Jan 1st we had some folks over to play games. Sabatina taught us Vegas style black jack, and then later we played Munchkin.

No fencing last night, so I played more Warcraft and did some laundry. Caught up on all my web comics (all the non-LJ ones). Caught up on LJ - lots of posts from folks I wish I could respond to and provide support/comfort/help but I can't find the words (or I don't think they'd actually help). Need to get back to the gym, but I keep forgetting to bring my stuff to work - once I get home I'm reluctant to head back out again.

We're going to be skipping EK 12th Night. I didn't finish the EK History stuff I wanted to have done for the event, and we never registered or made travel arrangements. Instead we'll be visiting the Philly art museum on Sunday. We'll also be missing Birka and the Curia, but that's cause of Vegas :)

I brought our DVD player to work to try and remove the DVD that is in it before shipping it off to JVC (since we didn't buy a service contract from BestBuy, we have to work directly with the manufacturer). The good news is that it started working again! I removed the DVD in case it fails again, but so far it seems to be doing ok. It did go into "Loading" once more but came back out of it a little while later. So the bad news is that it may have moved from broken to just flaky - which is harder to get fixed...

Just got an email from an on-line poker site I played on for a bit. They've set up a "tournament" and player account to collect donation for Tsunami relief. They will match all player donations dollar for dollar and then donate the entire sum to the Red Cross. I've only every played for play money, so I don't have any cash on their system to donate otherwise I might just to take advantage of the matching. They currently gotten over $75,000. Not as much as the $14 million collected through Amazon, but still pretty cool.
