Catching up, keeping up

Spent the evening on my own last Thursday. I dug through old TI issues and early Pikestaff issues trying to find references to the first Pennsic. If it did show up in TI, it looks like it's in one of the issues we don't have (#24). I also pulled out anything I could find on the first ten Pennsics, which was unfortunately little. The rest of the evening I poked around The Box some more - found a few more cool things. Finally wrote a note to the Society Archivist about it - we'll see what he has to say. More on that when I get home and can scan stuff.
Friday I made it to the gym and then over to dance practice, but I was too tried to actually dance. So I chatted with folks for a while, paid Sabatina for our tickets to Spamalot (she's organized a group trip up to see the show when it hits New York), and then headed home.
Saturday we went to breakfast at the King of Prussia dinner (not too impressed), ran some errands and then headed over to Finn and Margarete's. There we helped pull apart her sewing room and sorted stuff in an effort to allow her to be able to sew in there again. I think we made good progress - most of what is left is stuff she needs to sort so there wasn't much else we could do. I'd love to be able to do something like that with a few of our rooms, but most of our stuff requires our personal attention. It's one thing to sort fabric, but another to sort paperwork, books, comics, and just plain stuff.
After diner we played poker. It was Margarete's first time actually playing, she did pretty good too, but then none of us are real experts at the game. I got lucky a few times and ending up winning in the end (only the second time I've won one of our games). (speaking of poker Wil Wheaton has started a poker story on his website that sounds like fun).
Sunday I slept in, then went out to do some yard work. Watched a Chow Yun Fat film, City on Fire, that I had Tivo grab the other day. In the evening
violet_amy and I went over to her brother's house to visit with some of her family, including her sister who was visiting from North Carolina.
Monday, I had my dentist appointment and got the news that I need to have another wisdom tooth removed. I skipped the gym because I hadn't eaten well during the day and my gums were still sore from the dentist - very distracting. Later I went over to
vonbryan's place to watch some of the new Star Wars DVD with him and
hughcasey. Looks good, but we were listening to the commentary track so I don't know how the sound is.
Tonight D&D got canceled, so no real plans. I'll probably scan some stuff from the box and take a few pictures, then settle in to watch some TV or read.
No plans for Wednesday (weird...). Thursday is EK History - back in doing inventory. Friday is Newcomers - Sabatina and I are going to meet there and then head to the home brew store to get her set up for wine making. Saturday I'm drive to Bethesda for the Small Press Expo - hoping to find some cool books and meet some of the authors of some webcomics I've been reading. No plans Sunday - although Caer Adamant has there gaming day then, so perhaps I'll go down for that.
