Cat tales

Tyr really wants to hang out with the girls. Last night he was again sitting in the office not far from the door.. I settled in the hallway on the floor and watched him for a while. Nothing I could do would get him to come closer - nor did he run away though. When Gunther came over though, he moved right up to the gate. I hung there for a bit petting Gunther and Grimalkin. Tyr would meow at them from time to time. Eventually he settled down by the gate and was just purring away. I couldn't get either of the girls to go over to him, but they didn't run away either. After I went to bed, I could still hear him meow from time to time and pull at the baby gate the way Grimalkin does.

This morning I spotted a little bit of blood on the carpet (turned out to be more of a bloody discharge then blood), so I decided to check on Eir. This involved trying to pick her up from the closet and wrap her in a towel. I got her up and out and onto the window ledge where I hoped to reposition and get a good hold on her. Instead she hopped off and jumped the gate. Fortunately she went for the bathroom and was hiding behind my hamper. I just closed the door and then covered her. There was some struggle, but she settled down quick enough. She was scared and tense, but not running or fighting. I was able to check her out and then just hold he in my lap for a bit petting her. (Didn't find anything to be concerned about)
