Comment on this entry and I will list seven of the interests from your userinfo page, and you have to explain them. Then repost in your journal blah blah etc you know the drill.
colmunson asked about:
cosmic encounter
A classic board game first published in 1977. It remains my all time favorite game, both for its game play and the memories of the good times I've had playing it. It has been published numerous times since it's original release and a new version is supposed to come out next year. (I'm a collector, so I've got all the US editions, the British edition, the German edition and the Norwegian one).
discordianism
A religion disguised as a joke or a joke disguised as a religion. The worship of Eris, Greek goddess of chaos and strife. I first encountered it via the Illuminati game from Steve Jackson. From there I read about it in the Illuminati Trilogy by Robert Anton Wilson and Robert Shea, and Principia Discordia by Greg Hill and Kerry Thornley. For more info you can start with my web page.
poison elves
A comic book with a very different take on elves. Sadly, the artist Drew Hayes suffered from several health issues which meant the issues didn't come out very often, the last being in 2004. Drew passed away earlier this year - he was only 37.
questionable content
Questionable Content is a web comic, one of my current favorites in fact. Very clean style, and a very sarcastic wit.
the beatles
The Beatles are a little known British rock band... no wait, that's not right. I just really enjoy Beatles music, both the early stuff, the later stuff and the stuff in between. I don't recall where I first heard them or how I got into their music - most likely it was through the classic rock radio stations.
view askew
Kevin Smith's production company (Clerks, Chasing Amy, etc). I saw Clerks when it first came out on laserdisc, and I've been enjoying Kevin Smith's work ever since.
zwahlen's ice cream
Zwahlen's is a local ice cream place. They only serve three flavors: Vanilla, Chocolate and the Flavor of the Day, which changes every two days. Today's flavor is Banana, so I need to remember to stop in and get some. They also have home made chocolates and giant chocolate covered apples.
bertana asked about:
bruno baldwin
Bruno Baldwin refers to Chris Baldwin and his web comic Bruno. The comic just ended earlier this year after an 11 year run. It is about a troubled girl named Bruno growing up and trying to find her place in the world. Hmm...I need to pick up the last few books.
filk
Ah, the folk music of science fiction and fantasy fans. When I was able to attend more conventions I would usually spend my evenings listening to the filk singers. I still enjoy filk, but I've not kept up with who is doing what, I just try and track down new stuff by old favorites.
german games
Sometimes called Euro Games. They are a class of board games, usually from Germany, that I've grown to really enjoy. Games like The Settlers of Catan, and Carcassonne both fall into this category.
illuminati university
Ah good old IOU. Illuminati University was/is an on-line multi-player text game/story, and later turned into a GURPS supplement written by an acquaintance of mine and illustrated by Phil and Kaja Foglio. Players are (usually) students at the university, but can come from anywhere in the multiverse. I've never gotten to play it, but the setting appeals to me greatly. I have a t-shirt from the College of Weird and Unnatural Sciences and Engineering.
scotch (what's your fav?)
My favorite, at least that I can regularly get, is The Balvenie 12 yr Double Wood. I've had better, but they are usually pretty costly, and I usually forget their names. As a side note - I started drinking scotch before I started drinking beer.
seven deadly sins (same question!)
Without a doubt, I go straight for the big one - Pride. Everything else is just a shadow or reflection of pride.

Date: 2007-10-15 08:12 pm (UTC)I don't remember which expansion sets we played with. What I do remember is that I often won, which is no doubt part of why I liked it so much. ;)

Date: 2007-10-15 03:37 pm (UTC)Scotch - I've been enjoying Coul I'lla (sp?) a lot lately. Super-peaty Islay, best with a single ice cube to open up the flavor. (IMHO)

Date: 2007-10-15 07:19 pm (UTC)I'm not a fan of the peaty scotches, so I'll have to steer clear of that one.
You're another one with only a few interests listed (action, games, plays, theatre) and I think I can figure out what they all relate to :)
