mikeknToday was pretty nice. I got to sleep in for a while. Got to ignore the Jehovah's Witnesses when they stopped by. Even managed to answer two more comments from that quiz thing before starting my day.
I went down to West Chester to for the Christopher Moore talk and book signing. He was a lot of fun to listen to and I found out that his next book is a sequel to Blood Sucking Fiends and that Emperor Norton will be making a return appearance.
Once I'd made it through the line and gotten my books, I headed over to the Games Keep. Karl was there on his own sitting in the dark (which seems to be how I always find him). We talked for a while about various games. I had brought some of my old Magic the Gathering stuff to show him (giant Black Lotus and Chaos Orb cards, signed cards, Collector's Edition, etc) Eventually someone else showed up so we played a game of Street Illegal. After that we started a game of Power Grid. We didn't get to finish it, because the new guy got called away. Before anyone else showed up I was poking around the used games and found a Byzantine Chess set. This led to us talking about various period games and then some abstract games that share some elements from some period games. Eventually a few more people showed up, so we played a game of Ticket to Ride and a game of Bang!. I won both :) Ticket to Ride with a nice 20 some point lead and Bang! as the Renegade (but only because the dynamite blew up on the sheriff and got him down to where I could take him).
By then it was time for me to head home. Amy was still out when I got home, but the mail had not been brought in yet. In the mail I got a nice consulting paycheck and it seems I won two free passes to go see Elizabeth I next Wednesday. I now know what Amy and I are doing that day :) (She doesn't know it yet...)
So a good day.
