18. Paradiso - Dante Alighieri *
The cosmology of heaven isn't as interesting as the depths of hell, or the climb through purgatory. Too many of the explanations come down to: because that is the way god wills it and who are we to question it.
Through out all three books, it was interesting to catch the various little mentions of scientific thought or knowledge. All things I knew they knew about, but it was neat to see them used or mentioned (even simple stuff, like the world being round and about 24,000 miles in circumference).
19. A Fire Upon The Deep - Vernor Vinge
Look a real book with pages and everything! While there has been lots of travel time for audio books, my actual book reading time has been pretty limited. Add that this was a rather long book then it makes sense that it took nearly two months to finish. Still, a very good novel full of interesting aliens and ideas, making it well worth the time spent. I'm adding more of his works to my list :)
