If someone were to hand me that sort of cash and insist that I spend it on something with no practical purpose, I'd probably go for a pinball machine, a reproduction of Alfonso X the Wise's game book, or an actual Norton note before getting just his signature.
If I was getting a pinball machine, I'd have to go with The Black Knight (http://www.ipdb.org/showpic.pl?id=310&depth=0&picno=299) for sentimental reasons.
That's good one too. And the good news is that in good working condition it only runs about $1K. My problem is I got hooked on MM, and it runs closer to $5K.
My uncle actually has that one. Unfortunately, the good working condition died awhile ago, and it's now buried in the back of a basement filled with computer stuff. :(
Bummer! Does he still have all the parts and pieces? There are folks who repair them (I know of a few), and if it's something he'd want to get rid of (free or real cheap) they might be interested.
I think whatever it was that last broke was annoying or expensive to replace. I have no idea if he would want to get rid of it, but seeing the basement makes me think it could be hazardous to your health to cross that much of it! If they ever get it clean, I'll let you know. :)
