Weekend wrap up

beckishadow's house and hung out with loosecanon, tashamcgann, and h3salthea. We missed seeing dame_margarete, who left before we got there. I worked a little on my game reconstruction for the Laurel's Challenge. After things wound down, we stayed a bit later and watched Rent with Becki. Very good - I'd like to see it on stage sometime.
Friday was the Philly Area Gamers meeting. I got to play both of the two new games I've picked up recently - Caylus and Alhambra. Alhambra took longer than it should have because we were all learning it for the first time. Good game, not too heavy. Emma had played Caylus before, so she was able to guide us through it. Caylus is much more involved and has a lot more player interaction, though neither game has direct interaction (like playing cards on another player). Both are medieval themed city building games with built in time limits (running out of tiles in Alhambra or having the Bailiff reaching the final scoring point in Caylus). I'm happy with both and hope to play them some more soon.
After gaming, I met up withviolet_amy and we went out to Red Lobster with shadowpony, starseeker1221, mare_in_flames, dame_margarete, finnfinnegan and AJ. It took us much longer than we expected to get seated, but we were able to entertain ourselves while waiting. Good food, and even better company.
Sunday, my plan was to work on finances, putting away stuff from my mom's house, putting the bathroom back together and maybe taking down more bushes outside. I got started on the finances, and the stuff from my mom's place, but wound up falling asleep while Amy was gone for several hours in the middle of the day. After she got back we watched some TV (Doctor Who!) for a while before heading to bed.
I'm going to fencing practice tonight, so I won't get much else done, but hopefully I'll be able to spend some of the evenings this week working around the house.
