Vegas!

We've still got two days to go, but I'm getting excited about our vacation.  We fly out at god awful in the morning on Saturday - hopefully missing the snow storm that is expected that afternoon (please, please, please!).  We return at god awful at night the following Saturday.  My mother has offered to drive us to the airport, but as Amy pointed out we need a morning person to get us there and a night owl to get us home (and my mom is neither).  Instead we'll probably just park the car at one of the cheap lots.  Compared to the rest of the trip it doesn't cost that much and at least then we're the only ones trying to get up and drive around (and if things get changed for some reason we have more control).

Can't wait.  Just need to make it there in one piece, in a reasonable amount of time and everything will be good.  The weather out there is calling for temperatures in the 70s for the first part of the week and in the 60s for the later part.  We'll have a car, so we can get around to anything that catches our fancy.  We've got tickets for several shows during the evenings (Cirque!) but the rest of the time is unscheduled.  I want to play poker at some point, but I can't see myself doing that very often.

The down side of things (and it's not a big downside) is that I'll probably feel left out of any social stuff that happens while we're gone (yeah, yeah, poor me, playing in Vegas and missing a movie or just hanging out with friends).  If Pennsic is any indication, as we reach the end of the trip I'll probably be very anxious about how the cats and the house are doing.  We're bringing my laptop, so we'll hopefully have access to email and web, but no World of Warcraft (hopefully withdraw won't be too bad :) ).  Folks who started weeks after I did are already passing me in level, so I expect them all to be way up there by the time I get back.  Hmm... maybe we can add a Munchkin rule to WoW - all discards go to the player with the lowest level :)

That answers my question of whether or not you'll be at Hafla this weekend :)

Enjoy missing the snow. It's been upgraded to "Heavy Snow". Should be very interesting!

Have a great time, and tell us all about it when you get back :)

Personally, I could do *without* heavy snow....

Yeah, me too, especially since we had plans for Hafla post-revel that didn't include shovelling snow. I meant interesting in the Chinese curse sense of the word: "May you live in interesting times". Though it's true that in general I've learned to find things fascinating instead of frustrating. Much easier on the adrenal glands.

I've always used Sunpark. I like them fine.

Airport Parking-Sunpark
Address: 7060 Essington Ave, Philadelphia, PA 19153
Phone: (215) 492-1161

They have a shuttle to and from their lot, and I think the pricing is comparable to the airport long-term parking (which has FAR ruder and more sadistic employees and more heavily crowded and uncomfortable shuttles to their icky lot). Also, Sunpark goes and gets your car for you, instead of dropping you off in the middle of East Moose Antler to hunt for the car you parked a week ago which is now covered in snow and could be practically in Delaware for all you remember, really.

(I don't like PHL's long term parking)

Have lots of fun... I'll be sure to organize lots of vindictive socializing in response to my own jealousy of you two for being in Vegas when I'm not. :)

*sniffle* Okay, if I promise to only hang out with Liz and Saby, and never both at the same time, can I at least have a dumb refrigerator magnet?

Have fun. :)

Enjoy

Vegas! It's an amazing time! The poker rooms can be a bit imtidating but fun! See everything! (Specially freemont street and Star Trek the experience) Having a car may be interesting, I've cabbed it every time I've been there. Traffic on the strip is a nightmare!

And you can't trade items in WOW! *stomps foot* Everything frickin soulbinds to ya!

Have a great vacation!
