mikekn: (Gunther-bite)

It wasn't hard to improve on last weekend, but this one did so very nicely.

On Friday, we went out to dinner at Rock Bottom with [livejournal.com profile] sansobel and a bunch of folks. Good food, good beers and great people and fun conversations. I'm still a little deaf, so I had trouble hear much beyond a seat or two away, but it wasn't too bad.

Ron started to put in the last part of the bathroom on Friday, but needed to finish it up on Saturday morning, so we were a bit behind schedule when in came to cleaning up for Game Day.

[livejournal.com profile] notshakespeare was the first to arrive, followed by Brian (one of the Philly Area Gamer folks) and [livejournal.com profile] sansobel. We started a game of Carcassonne Discovery while we waited for other people to show up. Later I got to play Ninja Burger and Killer Bunnies. Also in attendance were: [livejournal.com profile] loosecanon and [livejournal.com profile] baavgai; [livejournal.com profile] beckishadow, [livejournal.com profile] singewulf and Rowan; [livejournal.com profile] ianraven and family; [livejournal.com profile] kathy_the_geek; [livejournal.com profile] shadowpony; [livejournal.com profile] mare_in_flames; Finn; Emma (another Philly Area Gamer); Paul and Merrilee; [livejournal.com profile] moirla and [livejournal.com profile] rjsilverthorn; [livejournal.com profile] oaken_glen and Tomas; and [livejournal.com profile] siobhan1214 and [livejournal.com profile] merricke. Did I forget anyone? That's 24 adults when you count Amy and I. Good crowd :)

Gunther (seen in her new icon) was in rare form, counting coup on several unsuspecting people (sorry!) and meeples. Next time, she'll get penned up in the back room to prevent further injuries.

Sunday we slept in, then went down to my mom's house to help her get ready for some painting she is having done. For me this mostly meant going through my old room and deciding what to throw out, what to leave there and what to take home. I threw out three bags for stuff, filled my trunk with things to bring home and left a few old trophies and plaques. Amy was just thrilled that I was dragging more junk home ;) (ok, and a little grossed out that I was bringing home the ashes of my first cat...)

I've got a lot of books to go through and see if there is any reason to keep or sell or donate. I've got some junk that I couldn't part with. A few games to see if BGG has listed. My Mah-jongg set. There are probably some other neat things I'm forgetting. Fun fun.
