I've found myself if a lot more free time then I thought I'd have the last week or so.  Not that I was able to use it very effectively...

Had to cancel EK History last week because I was traveling home from New York (day trip).  Finally started a new book (The Riddle of the Wren by Charles de Lint) - I had been putting it off for weeks on the theory that I get more done when I'm not in the middle of a book, but the train ride to NY and back needed something.

My D&D game on Friday got canceled, leaving me free to go to dance practice instead.  Only a very small group was there this time (about 10 people) and I only danced one number.  I did get to chat with a few folks and pass along some messages I needed to pass along.  Saturday we took our time getting to the event (SRWC), not getting there until after 2 PM.  Didn't do a whole lot while I was there - delivered some comics to folks, peaked at the merchants, attended court (which was a lot of fun), got to see some shire members get well deserved recognition.  After court we went to a meeting of the brewers guild where they made the first Master Brewer of the guild.  Finally left the site around 9:30 and raced back to King of Prussia.

Made it down to Kildare's around 10:30 or so.  The Stone Soup Band was already playing, and [livejournal.com profile] rarcke and Liam had gotten a table right in front.  We joined them and settled in for an enjoyable evening.  I didn't feel like trying anything new, so I had my "usual" Black Velveteen - half Guinness and half Strongbow cider - very yummy.  Also order some food, since neither of us had eaten since lunch.  Both [livejournal.com profile] violet_amy and I were wearing Pennsic t-shirts, and [livejournal.com profile] rarcke and Liam had remained in garb, so the band knew right away we were Scadians.  We quickly established who we were, and the next song went out to the "Sin Pit" :)  If it wasn't for this gig, many of them would have been up at War Camp.

During the breaks they'd come over a chat with us.  We tried to talk them into crashing the EK Allies War Party, since we're helping provide and serve the booze.  They asked about Zeke, but we didn't really have much to tell them.  I had hoped to see [livejournal.com profile] snugglyevil there - she would have known more.  Thinking about Zeke spurred me on to order a glass of potcheen to finish out the night  - since it was he who first introduced it to us.  Everything wrapped up around 2 AM.

Sunday was free - no gaming as originally scheduled - and [livejournal.com profile] violet_amy was going to hang out with Becki and Mary for the afternoon, so I slept in for a change.  I went to the gym and proceeded to exhaust myself (found that reading while on the treadmill works pretty well), came home, read a little, napped a little and basically did very little until [livejournal.com profile] violet_amy got back.  We then proceeded to catch up on some TV (Stargate: Atlantis, The 4400, and Dead Like Me)

Fencing didn't start back up on Monday as we originally thought it would - should start next week, but then stops again for a few weeks during Pennsic.  Instead we ran some errands, and visited with [livejournal.com profile] kathy_the_geek and [livejournal.com profile] vonbryan, before coming back home.  I threw together a web page with info for possible SCA event sites in the area - something I've been meaning to do for a while.  It's very rough but it serves its purpose.  Hopefully I'll be able to maintain it and clean it up over time.

Tonight is [livejournal.com profile] violet_amy's jewelry making class, so I'll go to the gym after work and then see what I can get done around the house.

Tomorrow I go back to New York to try a few more hardware swaps.  At some point we're going to just have to say the stuff is incompatible, but for now it's back onto the train for me.

Thursday, no EK History again.  This time I'm traveling to DC.  I need to visit the FDA and set up some software (hopefully they don't dread a visit from us as much as we used to dread a visit from them...)  Anything interesting happening in DC Thursday night?  If I get time, maybe I'll visit some of my old haunts - book and game stores mostly.

Friday I should have time to visit the gym again, but then we're off to an SCA meeting for an upcoming demo.

Saturday is helping a friend move to Delaware follow by a birthday party for [livejournal.com profile] violet_amy's nephews.

Sunday is free once more - we're planning to go see The Village (unless we manage to catch it before then) and I think I'll push for brunch at Kildare's...mmm...bangers, rashers, and black & white pudding.
