Cat experiment

I have an experiment I want to try. The cats always lie down on whatever is on the bed, so I want to put a series of decreasing sizes of paper and see at what point it's too small for them to care. My hypothesis is that if it's the same size or larger then them they will sleep on it, if it's smaller it will become a toy. However, they may surprise me.
