8. The Stars My Destination - Alfred Bester *

Classic SF from the 1950s, which has aged better then many others. Good story of an anti-hero driven by revenge.

Bester is on my list of authors I need to read more of. I first learned of him thanks to Pat Cadigan's "The Ultimate Cyberpunk". I've also been reading more "classic" authors lately, so he fits that bill too.
