mikekn: (Mughi-pumpkin)

Mughi is about 19 years old at this point. She is showing her age in many ways notably weight loss and "accidents". These days we keep her penned in the kitchen where the other cats won't bother her and it is easy to clean up after her. She doesn't jump or climb much so a simple baby gate is all it takes to keep her there. She still gets around ok and interacts with us, but mostly she's just happy to eat and sleep.

Tyree has been doing quite well. His only problem is chasing Grimalkin. Otherwise he's a big cuddly cat (who still plays rough - but we're getting better at avoiding injury while playing with him).

Gunther had a rough patch a while back, when she started to chew out her fur. This was caused by the stress of living with Tyree. We got her on some meds for a month or two and in the process she and Tyree came to an uneasy co-existence. They are both really cautions around each other, but they eat from bowls in the same space and both sleep on the bed together. Only when they surprise each other is there a problem, but that is rare and doesn't cause any damage. At this point she gives as good as she gets (and her fur is growing back in).

Grimalkin is in the worst shape of our gang. Health wise she's lost a little weight (not totally a bad thing) and may have a heart murmur, but mostly she is nervous and skittish. If she sees Tyree, she runs. If he sees her run, he chases. She's gotten frightened at the litter box, so she's mostly stopped using it. That means we have to keep an eye on her and watch for more "accidents". I tried putting her in the kitchen with Mughi, but even two baby gates weren't high enough to keep her in (I don't understand why she won't stay in since Tyree can't get in). She lives at the top of the cat tree, or in Tyree's room on top of a bunch of boxes. She'll come and visit if people are around and Tyree isn't but the moment she thinks she hears something she's gone.

One of the side effects of all this is that our house is no long good for hosting Game Days. I have to get my gaming fix with the Philly Gamers, cons, or anywhere else I can.

Oh, is that the Woad's Tyree? I didn't know you'd gotten him. What an amazingly sweet cat :)

If you want to pick a weekend or evening, we are more than welcome to host. The cats like the company and it's definitely easier for us to have groups of people over than to drag Ryan out.

Hehe. I am good doing gaming fairly regularly if people are interested. With a toddler, it's not like we have a wild and crazy life- especially in cold months.

We have the space for it and Ryan has his toys and crib. And there is space if people need to crash.

I could do the 8th :) If you're game. I could do the 20th too for that matter but that sounds far away. :)

We can probably host. We don't have as much space, but we now have a functional space in the library for a second game.

Besides...November 16th, dude! You were one of the reasons I changed the date. :-)
