Tuesday's archery practice was far better attended then I would have expected for the first one after Pennsic. There were about 19 people shooting plus a few just watching. [livejournal.com profile] complexated got to run her first official line (ok, she's not on the official marshal list yet, but it is working it's way through the system).

I shot poorly, but right now I'm using three different kinds of arrows to make up a set of 6-8. I need to do some repair work on a bunch so they can hold me over until I get a new set.

That was definitely the biggest practice I've been to! It was kind of awesome. And hey, I shot better than usual, so it was doubly awesome. I'm going back out for more practice tonight. :)

Yeah, it was amazing! We need to buy more loaner arrows!

Do we need to take up a collection for that, or do we have actual budget for loaner gear?

We have a lot of Kandy and my old arrows, most of which are in need of repair.

Couple of quick checks - Meric has School arrows at $28.00 a dozen, 3 Rivers has them for 15.99 a half dozen. We'll check at French Creek over the weekend and I'll call Lancaster Archery also...

Agreed, we need a few more practices like that one. But we really should have enough arrows and quivers to go with the bows we already have...

We'll bring it up at the next shire meeting, I doubt it will be a problem...

Mike, did we get a budget last time when we bought the bows? If so, did we spend it all?

We should probably get a couple more cheap quivers...

Which reminds me that we really should speak to our Exchequer about the archery budget here in BBM - we blew last year's on 4Q, this year's was supposed to be used on Acorns and Pearls 2 - and we never touched that budget.

I think the previously mentioned at-the-meeting idea of buying some loaner gear for the Barony is about the only thing we can do at this point - Saunders matts are not conducive to apartment life.

It was a great practice. I'm thinking we need to pull that table that's down at the end (they use it for the novelty shoot on first Sunday) up to behind the general area, for more room for folks to set up. That might help the crowded-ness at set up/break down.

Would have been better if I'd kept up the momentum I had at 20 (shot a 23) instead of falling apart at 40 (2!) and 30 (7 I think).... sigh.

Could have done without crunching my fingres, too -- only one still sore though so I should be good by next week :)

I'm glad things went well and sorry I missed it. I honestly drove up and down Neif... road 4 times looking for the turn and could not find it. Very sad. Must cry now.
