16. Wicked - Gregory Maguire [796/1494 53.28%]

Finished Wicked last night.  Very nicely written.  One of those books that I wish was longer so that the author could have gone into more details.  It does make me wonder what the actual Oz books are like; how much of the other characters and places came from them vs. from Maguire.  I'll eventually pick up the rest of Maguire's fairy tale books.

I enjoyed the book as well. You'll like the Ugly Stepsister. Now get the music from the Musical Wicked, and see how they changed things.

Actually, I'm hoping to see the show before I hear the music (NYC's not that far - just need a free weekend and tickets :)

Before reading the book I ran across Hannah Fury's music. Her album "The Thing That Feels" has several tracks inspired by the book. I think she has MP3 samples of some on-line.
