Honestly, I'm not exactly sure myself. This was a kit that I picked up, so it was mostly just following the directions.
It's possible that the juice was diluted, because it did not have as much sugar in it to begin with compared to the wine I made. Fermentation ran to completion, then the yeast was killed off and some fruit juice added to bring the sweetness back up. In the end it only has 1/3 to 1/2 the alcohol as a regular wine.
It tastes good, but not so good that I'll be wanting to make it again and again. I'll probably stick with cider, and maybe try to make a hard lemonade, for my low alcohol stuff.
