Behind and Ahead

You can tell it's going to be a Monday when you've not finished your morning email before lunch time.
I've already written about the convention. Nothing new there, other then discovering that one of the books I picked up was one I already owned. There was a duplicate entry in my database, one marked have and one marked wanted...
Didn't get much done on any of my personal projects last week. Did laundry, watched some TV, read some. I'm having a hard time getting moving on most of what I want to do.
Actually had stuff to do at work - always a good thing. My dad worries when he hears I'm not actively working on one job or another - he'd not be comfortable just waiting for the next project to show up. I figure, so long as I can bill for half my time or more (on average) I'm in good shape.
Thursday I cancelled EK History night and we went over to my brother and sister-in-laws for dinner. Unfortunately they had been expecting us the following Thursday, but it worked out in the end.
Friday was the SCA Newcomers night at our house. We were hosting since our chatelaine is still recovering from giving birth. While we had a good crowd of people there (7 not counting us), not of them were newcomers. We got some heraldry work done, and then I put most of them to work sorting newsletters (two boxes from the kingdom seneschal). We got through them, but that just means I've got more inventory to work on again. Still, we're getting close to the end. If I'm lucky (and spend more time on it), I should have them all done by Curia in two weeks.
Saturday we went yardsaling with
kathy_the_geek. I was good and didn't buy anything - not even cheap books that I might, someday get around to reading (Anne Rice, Terry Brooks). Visited the homebrew store to get the Oatmeal Stout makings, and a couple of cases of wine bottles. The rest of the afternoon was spent with the brewers guild, kegging and making beer.
Sunday morning we saw the new Harry Potter on IMAX with
hughcasey, Deni, Joe & Kandy. I don't really like IMAX (too big for me to see comfortable), but I thought I'd give it one last try. It wasn't bad, but I think I'm still going to avoid it in the future. The movie itself was great. I've forgotten enough of the details from the book that I didn't miss any of the stuff they cut out, nor did I recall the plot until after it was revealed on screen. As far as I'm concerned, this is definitely the best of the three films.
After the movie we went to Kildare's for brunch. They've got a good Sunday brunch menu with traditional Irish food. I was able to get bangers, rashers and black & white pudding (and eggs and pancakes and toast) - not to mention Strongbow cider to wash it all down. (Mmm... Cider... for breakfast)
Later we visited Neale & Becki along with Finn & Margarete. Spent most of the afternoon playing Godzilla: Destroy All Monsters Melee on Neale's Gamecube
Tonight and tomorrow I hoping to bottle and work on the EK History stuff.
Wednesday is the brewers guild meeting down in Media.
Thursday is EK History night. I doubt I'll get as many people as I had last Friday, but who knows.
This weekend is still up in the air. We may try and go to an event up in Coppertree (Aethelmarc), or we may stay home and work around the house - it's up to Amy to decide.
