Hmm, last one of these was over a week ago - let's see how well I can recall two weekends worth of stuff.
We did get to go see Van Helsing on the 7th. It was a fun action flick of the non-stop, low-plot variety.
Went gaming at
kathy_the_geek's on the first Saturday. Got to play Talisman again (2nd ed.) - Very happy about that. It's a great game that I don't get to play often enough. Sunday we worked around the house and then took my mom out to dinner. We went to a place in Frazer called the Mix Master Cafe. Expensive, but excellent food.
Still very little going on at work. It's starting to pick up but hasn't really been keeping me busy during the day. Thank goodness for LJ - always something new to read. Of course I'd be better off if I was working on one of my side projects, but I'm having trouble getting started on most of them.
Monday was a trip to the eye doctor. No surprises there. Ordered a new contact lens (which just came in - need to make an appointment!)
Tuesday...well...Tuesday I don't remember.
Wednesday was the brewers guild meeting at our house. Amy was out baby sitting for some friends, so she missed it, but we had a good sized crowd. I wish our meetings involved more brewing and less guild business, but oh well.
Thursday was EK History night - more inventorying of newsletters. I can see most of my dinning room table again! Not much left of the local newsletters - should be done this month. Then I get to start all the other newsletters (regional, guild, etc)
Friday, went to dance practice with Amy and a friend who we've not seen for a while. Great to catch up with him again. Didn't actually get to dance - which is a bit unusual. We've got a huge crowd these days, and quite a lot of them just socialize - but I usually manage to get in several dances. (Not that there weren't people dancing - I just wasn't one of them).
While we were there we learned that the son of two of our members was best friends with Nick Berg. Nothing like that to bring the war a little closer to home....
Saturday we went out to Spring War Practice. Spent the day hanging out, judging Game and Toy A&S entries (all two of them), and watching the fighting. During court they announced that Curia (which had been scheduled for Sunday) was postponed until Vinland Raids. Kind of annoying since the main reason I was out there was for Curia, but it did mean we could go home instead of trying to find a place to crash for the night.
So instead of being out of town on Sunday, I got to spend it at home working on stuff around the house. I even did a bit of weeding! (Not that you can tell)
Went to fencing tonight, but once again it was only the marshal and I. This time the doors were also locked, so we just chatted for a bit to see if anyone else would show up and then called it a night. For the next few months, practices are going to move to her place on Sunday afternoons, so at least she won't drive all the way out to Royersford for nothing.
In the coming week I've got more EK History stuff, Period Gaming and running a games table at an event in Buckland Cross.
I need to get one of these for my car. Although I'm more likely to make my own, since I don't like the font or the apple they use.
