Day 10
I got started around 7:30 and worked on weeding the ivy bed. Just after 8, my Dad stopped by to lend a hand. We took off the lower branches that I was debating about. The trees look a little weird now, but I like the way it opens up that area. From a distance the trees look good, so I think it will be just a matter of getting used to their new look.

He brought along his chainsaw, so we also removed the mulberry "bush" that had popped up in the one flower bed. The birds kept it fairly stripped of berries, so I didn't see any point in keeping it around. It wasn't there when we moved in eight years ago, but now it required a chainsaw to get rid of...

By the time we got all the branches packed into the dumpster, it was time for me to get ready to go and for him to head back south. I had hoped to get back out there in the early evening, but by the time it rolled around, I was completely wiped out.

In theory, the dumpster should be picked up tomorrow morning. I can't imagine them working Sunday, so I expect it will be picked up on Monday at the earliest (and if not Monday, then probably Wednesday because of the holiday). So, I'll continue to fill it as long as I can :)

To Do, Started, Finished:
1. Move the big brush pile (hereafter, The Pile) into the dumpster.
2. Move the little brush pile (by the oak tree) into the dumpster.
3. Remove the unwanted bushes in the front of the house.
4. Remove the unwanted bushes and weeds from the side and back of the house.
5. Trim out the dead branches from all the trees.
6. Weed the ivy bed.
7. Move the termite infested fire wood to the dumpster.
8. Remove more unwanted bushes, this time from the other side of the house.
9. Remove the lower branches on the evergreen trees.
10. Prune remaining bushes.

I'm impressed. Glad you had some productive Dad time, too.
