Day 6
So, are you sick of these yet? I almost am.

The sky cleared up enough after work for me to get back out there and the ground remained wet enough so that archery was moved inside. Since I can't run a royal round inside, I stayed home to continue the weeding. I was able to remove the last two bushes from the front of the house as well as the last pine tree trunk (yay for pruning saw!) I also continued weed and bush removal on the side of the house. If the weather holds I should be able to finish the side and back tonight.

I've reached the point where I'm working around the ground hog hole. I've seen two ground hogs in the back yard, but haven't spotted any of them near the house recently. I'm not sure if I already scare him off, or if he is just being more cautious now.

The dumpster has almost reached the point where I need to close the end and start filling from the top. If I work tonight I'll get there.

To Do, Started, Finished:
1. Move the big brush pile (hereafter, The Pile) into the dumpster.
2. Move the little brush pile (by the oak tree) into the dumpster.
3. Remove the unwanted bushes in the front of the house.
4. Remove the unwanted bushes and weeds from the side and back of the house.
5. Trim out the dead branches from all the trees.
6. Weed the ivy bed.
7. Move the termite infested fire wood to the dumpster.
8. Remove more unwanted bushes, this time from the other side of the house.
9. Decide if I'm going to remove the lower branches on the evergreen trees, and if so, do it.
10. Prune remaining bushes.

Ok this sounds really weird but it works. Last year my parents had a problem with ground hogs, the way to scare em away, since the only way to get rid of them is to trap em, is fox urine. You only need to do this though if they are burrowing under stuff you don't want them to. The scent from the fox urine apparently scares em.

Human urine will keep deer away from potted plants, but you have to reapply fairly frequently. If I was a boy, I might've gotten tomatoes that year I lived mostly in the woods. As a girl, peeing on my garden was too much hassle.

Advice, from my uncle, was to use moth balls. Apparently, it makes the groundhogs go away. Have not tried it yet, though we badly need to.

According to the Pennsylvania Game Commission, you can hunt them with a proper license.

Yum.
