Finally Friday

I'm sure I spent the week doing something, but I'm having a hard time recalling exactly what... Time to check my notes.
Went to the doctor last Friday to look into my weird headache. It started with some freaky visual effects before there was any actual pain, so I thought it might be a migraine. She's not sure yet, but we have a follow up in a few weeks. She gave me a hard time about not having my eyes checked more often (last time was Dec 2000), so I made an appointment to get that done in a few weeks. On the plus side my vision remains the same as last year 20/15 and 20/100 :) (depth perception? what's that?)
I bottled the cherry mead. Tastes like a sour cherry mead, which works for me since it's also fairly sweet so it's a nice balance. Threw out the soda because it had gotten infected somewhere along the line (soda should not be lumpy). Bummer too, it had carbonated perfectly.
I spent Saturday at the Beltaine Brew & Brawl event. We ended up not having a games tent, so I got scheduled to run the game classes in the A&S tents. No one showed up for the first one, and the other two never really happened (another class was continuing to use the tent, and no one was waiting for my classes) Plus is was a bit too windy for some of my stuff (I could just picture tarot cards flying across the field). I hung out in the brewing classes most of the day, even helped judge the beer and cider category. I put three meads and three cordials into the brewing contest. Didn't win anything (didn't expect too), but I'm hoping I'll be able to get a hold of the judging sheets. I'll like to see how the judging changes as the meads age. Need to make more Buckwheat Mead.
Sunday was spent at Amy's mom's house for her brother's birthday. Probably just relaxed at home afterwards. Can't remember (should have written this on Monday).
Monday at the office we spoke with some guys to switch our internet connection from IDSL to share their T1. Since it will cost us less money and give us faster access it was a no-brainer. The switch didn't actually occur until Tuesday, but once it was in place - wow! Downloads are going more then 10x what they used to. Only thing left to do was switch the domain hosting, which I started on Thursday and will finish today. In the process of moving their website over to the new host, I ended up cutting out most of it. It was originally made in FrontPage about three years ago, never finished, and not very good to begin with. I trimmed it down to about 300K from 14 MB - let's see if they notice :)
Went to fencing practice on Monday - apart from the marshal, I was the only one there. Her wrist started to bother her after a while so we cut the practice short, but it was a good practice. She'd like me to get to another group's practice or an event where some other marshals can see how I'm doing. We just need to find an event with fencing where I'm not running games :) Maybe when the canton starts practicing again I go down there.
Speaking of games, I've been invited to run games or teach game classes at two more events: Demeters Return II & A Day at the Lichtenauer Fighting Academy. Plus I'm going to help judge the Toys and Games category at the A&S Champion Challenge (assuming they get any entries in that category). Now if I could only get the Pennsic stuff moving.
Had lunch with my dad on Wednesday. That's always nice. Never any deep meaningful stuff, but we get to catch up. I need to get some samples of my mead and beer to him.
Shire meeting was yesterday - pretty dull, mostly Alles Faire (which I'm missing this year) and the Pennsic encampment (which I don't stay at). My friend Alice was there (her house recently burnt down) but she left before the meeting ended so I didn't get to talk to her at all - that sucked.
Today I made two new user icons from my license plate(s). The other is even more obnoxious then this one (think <blink>), so I don't know if I'll ever get use it (but I uploaded it anyway). I've had this plate for years and only occasionally have I gotten a reaction from somebody - but I've never gotten a parking or speeding ticket :)
Tonight I need to rack the wine cooler as soon as I get home and then we may or may not try and go see Van Helsing.
