From [livejournal.com profile] thorsbaby comes a link to a collection of 80's music videos:
http://www.worksafevideos.com/music_videos/ (the domain says work safe, but that is only partially true, the real domain and anything other then the videos are not safe.)

Some blasts from the past that I found:
The Buggles - Video Killed the RadioStar
The Vapors - Turning Japanese
Men Without Hats - Safety Dance
The Timelords/KLF - Doctorin' The Tardis
Barnes & Barnes - Fish Heads
Pizzicato Five - The Audrey HepburnComplex
The Residents - The Act Of Being Polite

Sadly, these aren't working:
The Dead Milkmen -Punk Rock Girl
Madness - Our House

Awesome! Thanks. I have to say the KLF video may be one of the worst music videos I have ever seen. But they get points for the intentionally cheezy daleks and the scenery. I have been to the chalk horse they show.

Oh, very amusing. KLF always was pretty whacky and of course they never showed their faces. Remember that song/video they did with Patty LaBell? I think it was her. They had these monk robes with rhinoceros horns sticking out.

Squeeness!

Back in the '80's, I was in high school and still living in Brooklyn. Cable arrived in 1983, and that was ONLY for Manhattan (bloody toffs), and it took years for the other boroughs to get cable. So MTV was only available when you went to someone's house whose parents were willing to pay for it, and the rest of us had to wait for Friday Night Videos.

Somewhere, I still have the Betamax tapes filled with crap 80's videos from FNV

Somehow I just knew Safty Dance would be on that list! A few years ago I spent some time hunting that one down as a surprise for a nostalgic fan.

I'm amused.
