Small Press Expo

Went down to Bethesda for the Small Press Expo. Turns out this was their 10th convention. I was at the first two or three, way back when. It's gotten a lot bigger since then, but with fewer publishers and more folks publishing their own stuff.
Since I've got this big stack of books, I figure I'll go through them and make you all jealous ;)
I got to meet Jennie Breeden, who writes and draws the webcomic The Devil's Panties - a semi-autobiographical comic, not satanic porn :). She's cool, and looked like she was having a good time at the con. I picked up two of her books that I didn't have, and gave her a small bottle of cherry mead.
Jeff Smith (Bone) and Mike Mignola (Hellboy) were both signing books at the CBLDF. I visited them and got a book signed by each (brought the last Bone GN, and bought the first Hellboy GN). I missed Kyle Baker (Cartoonist), because he was only there on Friday.
I also got two Diesel Sweeties books from R Stevens.
For new stuff that caught my eye and had to be brought home:
- Two volumes of Dogeared - clever single panel comics from Millard Draudt
- An issue of Lackluster World by Eric Adams
- The complete run of Jax Epoch and the Quicken Forbidden by Dave Roman and John Green (plus their doujinshi - Ron Weasley and the Bloody Brilliant Day).
- The complete run of Jane's World by Paige Braddock. Very nice art and the story looks good. Came with a recommendation from Terry Moore.
- An issue of Temporary from Damon Hurd and Rick Smith. From the same writer (Damon), I also got A Sort of Homecoming, illustrated by Pedro Camello.
- Four issues of Runners a sci-fi story from Sean Wang.
- Zoe and two issues of Black Eyed Susan from Patrick Neighly and Donny Hadiwidjaja.
- Roc's Keep from Jenni Gregory (best known for her DreamWalker series)
- Complete run of Frayed Ends from Jason Brightman.
- A few collections of Goats a webcomic I'd heard good things about, but never got around to reading.
- Two Punch and Judy books from Christopher Reilly and Darron Laessig.
- A collection of stuff by Angi Shearstone. As well as a collection titled Myths and Monsters that she helped with.
- Gnorm the Gnome by Brad Samuelson.
- Fire Proves Iron by Page Malbrough, Michael Malbrough and G.W. Fisher.
- Attic Wit 6/7 a Heaven/Hell flip book collection.
I also picked up some freebies here and there. If any of them prove to be good, I'll give them a mention.
