*Sigh*. Some people are really into Texas Hold'em --... but I find it horribly dull after a few hands.
I can understand that. I think the game itself is only a small part of the appeal (at least the way we play). We've been playing it tournament style - buy in for $10 or $20 and play until only one person is left, top two or three take home the money. Going from nickle games to this really changes the way people play. Even if you lose, it's still a pretty cheap evening's entertainment.
If we played more then once every couple of months, I'd want more dealer's choice games.
Scary sounding. We tried a few Cheapass games...
They are, my favorite, if only for it's name and weirdness is Rosencrantz & Guildenstern - a mix of Follow the Queen and Hamlet - aka Follow the Hamlet.
