5. Four and Twenty Blackbirds - Cherie Priest
Billed as a southern horror story, reads more like a supernatural suspense story then horror (but then I don't read much horror, so maybe my expectations are at fault). Not a bad story, but not a great one. Still, it shows a good deal of promise so I'll read more of her work.
