Good weekend

Friday, while violet_amy went to NJ so she could get an early start at the event on Saturday, I went off to a jessiervnsmk's party with hairness & complexated. Got to meet more of her friends and one neighbor - all pretty cool folks. Strange in their own special ways (like the the rest of us). :)

Saturday I was up early, catching breakfast with hairness & complexated before complexated and I went to Ducal Challenge. Made good time and was on site in time to help with setting up the archery field. Long (but good) day of shooting and marshaling. Enjoyed being at court to see katnboots get her Silver Crescent (yay!) and Rupert his Pelican. After the archery was all cleaned up, we hit a dinner for diner and then drove home. I crashed for the rest of the evening - too much sun and standing. Time to buy a new camp chair...

Sunday complexated and I went up to NYC to check out the MoCCA Festival. I was very good and only picked up a few new books :) When we were finished there we decided to go visit The Strand, hitting Forbidden Planet along the way. This was my first trip to The Strand, and for better or worse I was able to get out without buying anything (it helped that I skipped looking at the fiction section). It's a fun place to visit, and I stop in when the opportunity presents itself, but I have better luck searching for books on the net. On the way back we hit the Heartland Brewery on Union Square for some dinner and brews. NY prices, but really good food and beer.

I'm still waiting for my feet to recover from the weekend. Thankfully, the only thing planned for this week are archery practices on Tuesday and Thursday.
