I picked this book up in the airport at Chicago - I had finished the book I brought along and had failed to bring a second. I've not previously read any of this author's work, but I recognized his name from a book that was recommended to me (Accelerando).
Excellent SF story, set in a well fleshed out world. It wouldn't surprise me to find out that he has other books set in this world (hmm...should check that...nope looks like it is a stand alone - even more impressive then)
