Road trip?

So, would it be worth it to drive five and a half hours to attend an SCA event that is having a games tourney?  I've been tempted to attend each year since I've heard about it, but the plans just never come together.  On the plus side, it's a game tourney I don't have to run at a small event that sounds like a lot of fun.  On the down side, it's five and half hours each way.  That would mean driving down Friday night, finding a place to stay, attending the event on Saturday, and driving home on Sunday.  So a whole weekend gone, just so I can play Fox and Geese against unsuspecting strangers (ok, other games as well).

You could find something else to do in the area, mundanely; make it a semi-long weekend. Local tourist websites could be of service. VA used to have lots of fancy glass factories, and caves. Or so I remember from my youth.

Road trip?

Road trip! Road trip! If you've been wanting to do this for years, 11 hours really isn't that bad ([livejournal.com profile] vonbryan at one point said my road trips broke the rules of physics, so maybe I'm just weird).

And here's another Emperor Norton strip. (http://sfgate.com/cgi-bin/article.cgi?f=/c/a/2004/10/13/BAFARLEY.DTL)
