Just because they are using the same keyboard, it does not follow that you can copy/paste from your desktop machine to your laptop.

Actually, there really ought to be a way for two machines to share a clipboard. I know how I'd do it in X...

With Windows you can so it simply with a digital camera, a printer, and some tape.

Put a small amount of RAM in the keyboard. Trigger it to capture text when the copy command is issued (probably would have to be USB - can you send signals the other way on PS/2?). Flip the KVM. Send the proper keystrokes when the paste command is issued. Unless the keyboard briefly loses power when the KVM triggers - which seems likely. Eh, how hard can it be to add a battery?

On a related note, I've never understood why mice didn't know that they were supposed to wirelessly connect to the other 'puter that you are working on.
