Wow, 2007 was a spectacularly bad year for getting books read. Here is my short year in review:

The only good thing I can see is that I didn't buy that many books either (about 2 dozen all year)

The last book I started (Pynchon's V) was too heavy for the times I was reading. I had mostly been reading at night before going to bed, which works find with a lot of the books I read, but V requires more attention. I've decided to put it aside for now and start something else. With luck and effort 2008 will be a better year for reading.

Yep! Have you heard of him? I know he's done some Doctor Who related stuff, but I was recommended the books from a different source.

I love Mark Gatiss long time. Never read his books, though. Only know him from his acting (The Quatermass Experiment) and his various doings in the Whoverse.

They're good?

Very good, and lots of fun to read. The opening line of the second book is: "He was an American, so it seemed only fair to shoot him."
