Sweet and Sour Weekend
The Ohio trip was great. Got to meet more of the extend SCA household and hang out with some really cool folks. Even the car ride was fun. AJ, the six month old, travels really well. Finn and I talked about D&D, fencing, music, and other related stuff.
When we got home (around 11 on Sunday night) we learned that some friends of ours had their house burn down. Everyone is safe, the dog made it out, (although we've not heard anything about the cats), but the house is completely destroyed. The SCA folks are pulling together to provide anything they might need as they rebuild and recover.
I can't describe how relieved I am that everyone is safe. House fires scare the shit out of me. We've got four smoke detectors, and three fire extinguishers in our house, but I know that given all the books, comics and papers (nothing like filling your basement with thirty years of SCA newsletters) in our place it would never survive a fire.

Greetings Hartshorn-dale and friends,
I have been speaking with Eleanora the Tilemaker. Her husband had previously suggested they would be willing to coordinate collections for the Leber's. They are definitely willing to do this.
Eleanora has spoken with B'Rose today. B'Rose is not yet up to phone calls or visitors. They will let us know when they are ready. Eleanora will be seeing B'Rose tomorrow and will know more about thier needs after spending the afternoon with her. She will then let us know what the needs are.
There are two events coming up in Bhakail where collections will be able to be dropped off. This coming weekend at the Athena's Thimble Collegium there a box for cash donations. Then at Beltaine, April 30-May2nd, they will be collecting all types of donations (cash, clothing, etc). Diana had said we would fundraise at Alles Faire also.
Eleanora is easiest to reach by phone 610-356-9176, but can also be reached by email at tilemaker65@hotmail.com
Please feel free to forward this any interested lists you may be on, and thank you.
Yours in service,
Alison Wodehalle
