Cat time
I had a dream last night that Kim sent me an email about another cat. Not too far from reality - I did ask her to see if they could grab the sibling of the new guy (I think his name will be Tyr, but I want to talk it over with him first...), but no emails yet.
I'm now leaving the door to the office open all the time, but have two baby gates (one on top of the other) in the doorway. This lets him see the girls and vice versa without letting them really interact yet. I was concerned that he would hide more, but he continues to empty his food bowl, so he is still moving around both at night and during the day. I can reach into his hiding spots and pet him; sometimes he'll hiss other times he won't.
Grimalkin has started her insulin - one unit twice a day. She's very good about getting her shot (and I've only managed to stick myself twice!) She is getting Insulin Glargine (Lantus from Sanofi Aventis.) It's pretty costly (over a $100 per bottle). If I'm reading everything correctly the bottle holds 1000 units (100 units/mL, 10 mL), so there is a year supply there. Unfortunately, the meds expire after being open for four weeks.
Because the internet doesn't have enough cat pictures, here are some of the sib hanging out at Kim and Derek's house.
