27. Bloodsucking Fiends - Christopher Moore [808/1520 53.16%]
This is the first book I read from Christopher Moore, and I'll probably be reading a lot more of his work in the future.  In addition to being a well written and humorous novel, this one had the added bonus of having a modern interpretation of Emperor Norton as a character.

If I had known you hadn't discovered him, I would have introduced you years ago. I read Coyote Blue (his second) at some point not long after it came out and I've kept up with his works. I love his versions of the metaphysical and his characterizations - I look at a lot of people in his books and go, "Oh yeah, that's so and so..." I particularly recommend "Blood Sucking Fiends", "Coyote Blue", "The Lust Lizared of Melancholy Cove" and "Lamb" which is a fills in the years of Jesus' life not mentioned in the bible as witnessed by Jesus' best friend Bif, which may sound absolutely sacriligeous (and indeed, I wouldn't recommend it to my mom) but if you are open minded, it makes for interesting reading. If you'd like to do any borrowing, I just need to get my copies back from the last person I foisted them on.
