Behind and ahead

Monday: Didn't bottle the wine cooler - instead we went out to dinner at the Whitpain Tavern.  Good food, but only an ok selection.  Spent the evening cleaning bottles for tomorrow.

Tuesday: Bottled the wine cooler (60 bottles!).  Also tasted, messed with and bottled the blueberry mead.  It's going to need some aging - right now it had as strong bite to it.  Didn't make it to the cider.  I'm worried that I've waited too long to be able to carbonate it.

Wednesday: Brewers Guild meeting down in Media at Iron Hill Brewery.  We had a rushed dinner there (so we could make the meeting on time), but the food was good.  Got to taste a bunch of different beers, including some I liked (I'm not a beer drinker normally).  Some of the guys are friends with the head brewer there and he was bringing us all sorts of things to try.  Notables at our end of the table were a Black Current Lambic and a German Sour Wheat (if I recall the style correctly).  Interestingly, the girls all liked the sour beer, while the guys were a little more hesitant about it.  More things to try and make :)

Thursday: EK History work night.  We had a nice sized crowd (rare!), including two brand new folks from Blue Bell, PA (who are also gamers & anime fans - I need to point them towards S.O.S. and other like minded folks).  I brought out all the local newsletters that had not been sorted yet, added them to the all the stuff I've gotten in the last few month.  We got everything sorted by title, but nothing else inventoried.  (It was a very social evening, but we still got some stuff done)

Friday: Put away most of the newsletters, so that the cats wouldn't scramble them while we were gone.  After getting at late start, we drove up to Brookfield, NY with our friend Warren and his wife.  We made it to where we were staying (a local B&B) right around mid-night.  The only notable part of the trip has already been mentioned.

Saturday: Spent all day (minus one beer run) at Jugglers, Tumblers, and Bards hosted by the Shire of Coppertree.  Good site (big fairgrounds, with lots of space and usable buildings).  Attendance was minimal (around 20), but we got to hang out with the folks we went to see, as well as meet some new people and listen to the music.

Sunday: Took the long way home, by way of several wineries around Lake Seneca.  The first place we stopped had some homebrew supplies, so I picked up a few things to save me a trip this week - also got a 5 gallon bucket of honey for $90 ($1.50/lb which is a very good price these days.  We got to use our 30% off coupon on a case at Earl Estates Meadery.  In the end we bought a lot less then we did last year, but a lot more then we needed (big shock).  We also managed to come home with more beer then we took (but it's a sampler pack, so we may actually drink some of it :)

Nothing planned for today and Tuesday, so I'm hoping to finish the bottling and put up the new wine racks.  After that my free time will go towards the newsletters.

Wednesday: Bhakail is running a demo a few miles from my house, so we're planning on going over after work to help out.

Thursday: Shire meeting.  Probably going to be mostly Alles Faire wrap up, but there may be other stuff as well.

Friday: Drive up to Vinland Raids for Curia and the event.
