Been shopping...
Actually been to New York, and didn't get to go shopping, even though the Strand Annex is right next door...
But when I got home some books I ordered had arrived:
The Cat's Pajamas - James Morrow
Something Rotten - Jasper Fforde
Brain Plague - Joan Slonczewski
Year's Best Fantasy and Horror, 17th collection
I had visited bn.com looking to see if Morrow's new novel was out yet (I heard him do a reading from it over four years ago). Turns out it's been published in France, but not in the US yet. But he did have a new collection of short stories out. So I went shopping. The Fforde book is one I've been waiting for ever since finishing his The Well of Lost Plots. The other two were in the clearance section - but I really liked the first Slonczewski book I read (A Door into Ocean). I just need to pick up her second book now (all three are set in the same world, but are not really a series, Brain Plague being the third).
I also recently picked up an omnibus edition of Barry Hughart book's - The Chronicles of Master Li and Number Ten Ox - from Studio Foglio (Kaja did the cover), along with some other goodies, including a Xxxenophile ashcan.
edit: Forgot to mention that I also just ordered Pratchett's Going Postal from Amazon.co.uk - it should arrive sometime next month. I always get my Pratchett books there, since they've got a great discount (40% this time) and so I get the British edition for about what I'd pay for the US one in a local store.
