Award winning SF novel from the 1970s. Only a little dated in spots, but that is easily ignored as you follow the main character, Robinette, though his past adventures as a prospector on the Heechee world Gateway. At the same time, we sit in on his current therapy sessions as he tries to work though an event at the end of his prospecting career.
