Depends on the mead - I've made one bone-dry and one sickly sweet (the bone-dry was actually an accident and the sickly sweet was made to blend with the it to give me something in the middle).
Mostly I try for semi-sweet and end up with a little dryer then I was going for. I'm not a fan of either extremes in general (though Gavan's Black Current is a great exception to the "don't like dry" rule).
