Research is a backbone of all of our arts and sciences -- otherwise we might as well be doing modern stuff. Without research, for instance, where would my embroidery be -- just some threads on fabric. What makes it A&S is researching historic stuff. You've contributed to that mind-set for games mightily, examining, teaching and encouraging the playing of period games; without that we might as well play Gin Rummy and Canasta at events.... :)
