Good ideas, but I'm not sure if they'll work here. The dehumidifier is dead and I don't know if the parts would be worth using for anything or not. The shelves are each a single solid piece, so they don't break down at all. I suppose I could dump them with a scrap yard, but I don't know any in the area.
